Klar, für die Backups selbst zieht der Write-Cache vom Controller ordentlich, das läuft. Wo's bei PBS auf HDDs weh tut ist GC und Verify, die lesen wild über den ganzen Chunk-Store und da helfen dir 1-4GB Cache bei nem 9TB Datastore halt nicht... -

Thanks, both angles are useful. On the special vdev: that matches what I'd expect for the DDT lookups, but the part I can't find numbers for is the write path — does putting the DDT on NVMe actually remove the penalty, or just move it? If anyone... -

Since this happened on megasas/IDE drive pools only, not on NVME pools, this appears as some weird timing problem to me. If there were problems...
