Veeam was able to install it's own VM for migrating, and I have migrated over one VM (although it will not boot because it cannot find it's drive). So I do not understand why the Veeam VM works...
It's too early to celebrate, but it seems one of the RAM sticks failed the memtest in both combined and isolated tests. I've replaced it with a new stick and will monitor the situation.

I'm still seeing the same read-only error regarding the log file location using your suggestion.
I couldn't create a new mount point, but I was able to mount the temp drive at an existing location which wasn't being used.
To figure out which...
Is this a decent idea or no? And if it's ok, how do I go about doing this task?
I only had it on VMWare because I have a lot of storage on this PC, but now I am using s3 storage and don't need all the local space. I would like to have it in my...
I was playing with the eBGP SDN fabric and noticed that there was no mention of peering with stuff that isn’t PVE nodes. Say if I wanted to announce a default route from a different router, how would I do that? All I really control is the...
ich denke auch dass man das pauschal überhaupt nicht beantworten kann.
es hängt total vom use case ab.
wichtigkeit datenkonsistenz vs. wichtigkeit dienste-verfügbarkeit und und und.
Looks like either a disk going bad, a loose cable preventing proper I/O or a mdadm error?
The filesystem might have gone into read-only preventing further damage, explaining the system stall.
What do cat /proc/mdstat and smartctl -a /dev/sda...
That does not look very related. You can also keep journalctl -ef and dmesg -wT open while trying the install and see if that tells you anything.
Did you try to write on the SAN from the host?
Good evening,
I'm also attaching this because I've had these errors since last night and had to reset the server with the power button.
However, the VMs inside are working: I found consecutive logs, but the PVE interface can't be reached from the...
Similar behavior indeed, but no reference to that in the 6.x bootlog.
Hopefully @ArcWeaver is able to collect some more/complete logs of problematic boots.
I have 7 PVE servers and 1 PBS server all with valid license. PDM's license manager correctly shows that status however it shows "Too many remote nodes without active basic or higher subscription" when I try to access the enterprise repo for updates.
I think that may have solved it. The machines had their times sync'd after boot (e.g. after running a minute), but there is a very small window where it was out of sync in the first few seconds presumably during services starting. I guess the...
I think I found the likely culprit ;)
May 28 07:35:16 nh5 nh-ntpdate[3084]: CLOCK: time stepped by -934.341954
could you try to get that sorted and see if the problem goes away then?

(and all linked pages) for some pointers for a good setup.
I hope this helps!
