nfs-ganesha runs in user space, so if it hangs or crashes in the CT (LXC) container it will not take the Proxmox Host down with it.
If the nfs-kernel-server in a CT container has problems it might hang the Proxmox host.
It is better to run a...
Sozusagen ZFS innerhalb eines Containers auf ext4 Basis des PVE?
Tun sie ja nicht. Zwei physische GWs.

for the purposes of this conversation, disk passthrough and jbod is the same thing. and yes, you can and should use it.
As for "best way," it really depends on what you want your "nas" to actually do. I am never a fan or running storage that is...

This is historically, in the Past i was running my Unify-Controller as container on it, but since that became bigger and more powerfull i decided to reinstall it as VM on one of the bigger nodes.
About my cluster, the 2 bigger nodes have 4 NICs...
Then use it only as qdevice to save you potential issues with the corosync network. The qdecice can be a small vm or lxc, so this is what I would do for maximum seperation. Alternatively reinstall the system as plain Debian and setup the qdevice...
the Ceph stack provided by PVE is designed for use in a PVE hypervisor environment; I totally get the desire to comingle cephfs and rbd but in this specific case your choice is comingle and use your own SMB bridgeheads, or deploy a standard ceph...

Thanks for letting me know.
I actually found a funny workaround.
I installed samba on the same host and used /localhost/share and point to the cephfs-fuse directory.
It's an odd duck but it works.

Minimalistischer geht...
