I did just that, and I think I managed it! I had a spare 1TB SSD, so attached that to the internal USB port and have installed PVE onto that - and will use my two 600GB SAS disks for storage/VMs etc, I guess. Hopefully that was the right thing...

I thought (maybe incorrectly?) that the OP was having issues with the First Guest Boot Delay not helping his issue.

Welcome, @dtreth I don't know why it hangs. I'm just thinking out loudly how to bypass the issue... I would log in to the VM by other means (e.g., ssh) and inspect the situation when the console is hung. Then maybe restart getty (or whatever is...

I can tell you that I used the noVNC to inspect and restart the getty. I tried to ask Claude (I know...) for some advice and using systemd overrides to tell the service to reset didn't help. It seems like the emulates serial device itself is what...

Must have been mistaken, the 10 second boot delay fixed the issue for us. Thanks for your help today!

Ich würde eine Neuinstallation mit ZFS empfehlen. Da bist du mehr flexibel. local hat da zB. Zugriff auf allen Speicher. Ansonsten: https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs/pve-admin-guide.html#_creating_an_extra_lv_for_span_class_monospaced_var_lib_vz_span

Maybe a workaround: Find an LXC that does starts up fine at boot & then configure the order for that LXC to startup first, & then add a Startup delay to that container, so that the subsequent LXCs startup successfully. You could even create a...

Your manual mount use a kind of nfs version (4.0/4.1/4.2) while in storage.cfg you define version 3 which depends on rpcbind which your zerofs doesn't have as you wrote. Btw. why use a uncommon nfs server if any linux has a functional kernel nfs...

Fourth device is another Mac Mini, but older and less memory, ZFS is something I am starting to explore - the replication feature is 'desirable' based on the possibility of needing to maintain some services. If I was to go 10gig I'd need...

1Gig switches for the primary network, completely separate 1gig switch for corosync. I binned all my Cisco switches after a house move, big, heavy, noisy, power hungry. Two Cisco's use more power than my entire setup. 1gig is fine, ZFS I just...

Thanks for pointing that out. Hopefully it gets integrated, would be a really useful feature.

Oh! Good to know. Perhaps Proxmox staff can do same sort of box in the replication web gui session, to increase this value. Just an idea. @fiona @t.lamprecht

Yes I think it’s 95% better with the patch, at most one per scrub now vs dozens of emails before.

Which logs would we be looking into? What exactly does writing nvidia-smi to /dev/null achieve? We should state, the boot delay had been tried previously (either 30 or 60 seconds), with no success. However, commenting out the mountpoint for...

Howdy! Indeed, it sounds like an issue with the enabled/ disabled promiscuous mode. In the Linux Kernel Documentation in section "10. Promiscuous mode", there are explanations of how this mode should work with the different bonding modes...

@waltar Thank you for the prompt reply. Unfortunately, those changes didn't work. In asking AI what it could be, the CLI options tell Linux to skip any standard NFS checks and just mount the export. Proxmox seems stricter in what it will do...

Using two interfaces on the same subnet and assigning each of them an IP address is not a common way to provide redundancy. In general, bonding is used for this purpose. Here is an example configuration. If you want automatic failover, the...

Per Webgui geht das nicht. Entweder Neuinstallation und die passende Größe dabei festlegen- Oder externe Platte per USB einbinden. Letzteres ist die schmerzloseste Variante.
