Hi @Ishadow, welcome to the forum.
There are several suggestions in this thread:

You also have other options:
- Try PVE9
- Try Debian (12 or 13) and...
Hi @FrostyIce , welcome to the forum.
Technically your question is not related to Proxmox Virtualization Environment at all. You may find experience in r/HomeLab and r/DataHoarder more suitable for your inquiry.

It may be helpful for the community if you provide the following:
cat /etc/pve/storage.cfg
pvesm status
lsblk

qm list
qm config [vm_id_snapshotted]
- task output of the snapshot
- journalctl output +-1min around snapshot

Hi @bbgeek17 , thanks for the response.
For storage, the server is running SAS drives in a RAID-5 with local-lvm as LVM-Thin. Each VM is running storage as VirtIO SCSI single. If that isn't the information you were looking for, please let me...

Hi @asummere , welcome to the forum.
The answer to your question depends heavily on the overall configuration of your system, most importantly - storage. Can you share more details?

Hi all,
I'm running PVE 9.1.2. Whenever I do a snapshot of a VM, I notice that all other VMs on the node same to freeze as well. As soon as the snapshot completes, the other VMs resume as normal. Is this normal behavior? I cannot find reference...
Just an update. I have confirmed that I can exploit this to establish an SSH session with the guest by simply probing the ssh port every second. As soon as I migrate the VM to another node the session connects and I can use that session as long...
understandable, the only mitigation I can currently think of is by utilizing a hook script, but that won't catch every case in the guest lifecycle.
I'll look into creating patches that resolve this problem by making the guest wait for a firewall...
Sorry, I think that's all I changed.
Would it be helpful if I reproduce the error? I didn't keep a backup of the file but I could try re-tracing my steps later when I get home.
Your log tells you that you couldn't authenticate 401 Unauthorized. Looking at your command again, the API token is not supplied correctly, it should be: host=1.2.3.4,apitoken=PVEAPIToken=root@pam!migrate=RANDOM-STRING,fingerprint=...

I'm trying to log in to my repository with the user that has permission to the datastore of my host machine. I'm using:

Which in return gives the error: Error: permission...
Das verstehe ich jetzt nicht. Wenn du einen PBS hast wo du mit inkrementellen Backups, das Backupfenster gering halten kannst, nutzt du diesen nur am Sonntag?
Erklär mal genauer was du alles hast und was du am Ende erreichen möchtest.
Update: Since disabling Direct I/O, we haven’t seen a single dio_verify_wr error and no io-error.
It looks like this change resolved the issue :
zfs set direct=disabled
Since this effectively bypasses newer ZFS features, should this be reported...
