We're running the latest PVE version 9.1 and our VM workloads reside on Ceph RBD. I would prefer that our software development staff, which frequently use VM snapshots, avoid "Include RAM" with snapshots. They are costly on storage and they...

Hallo zusammen!

I now have the new system up and running, and the NVMe SSDs are now recognized correctly. When I format the SSDs individually with XFS, I get around 3000 MB/s with the FIO test. I also get these values with an mdadm Raid1 and XFS. However, when I...

Hey everyone, Long time lurker, first time poster. I finally decided to bite the bullet and merge all my server equipment into 1 4u chassis and get it all virtualized to help save space/power from all the seperate devices I had, and so far it...

Thanks @microreal , special thanks to @homelabenthusiast These are the steps I took to change a hostname of a node which is a member of a cluster already, and have some VMs as well. Now I don't really understand if all of these commands are...

Hi, I have OpenWRT in VM. I pass-through several hardware NICs including the one that is 'wan'. I also pass in one virtual bridge (vmbr1) which is part of 'lan' subnet. This way I can connect my other lxc or vm to 'lan'. I wanted to pass in...

I lowered the CPU count and that seems to have done it! Also deactivated KSM, since it's just one VM and many LXCs. Now to see why Ollama won't compile, but at least the node isn't crashing anymore... Thanks!

Is that a question ...? Sure. Simplified: for reading data it should be nearly the same as data is read from all devices in parallel, but for writing data you now have only a single vdev instead of two. The effect is that IOPS (and bandwidth)...

To give a single VM 83 % of the system RAM may be problematic, sometimes. I would start with 30 GiB and then 40 GiB - and I wouldn't be surprised if that works well. Sidenote, probably not relevant for that "Oops": that CPU has eight...

If it occurs frequently, why not disable it and test whether it reproduces? If that function (ksmd service's ksm_get_folio) isn't called, I think the problem won't occur or will transform into a different issue. *You can confirm from the screen...

The datastore configuration on the PBS has a tab "Options". There you'll find "Verify New Snapshots". Probably that's the relevant toggle.
