FWe have the same issue, and do not want to disable greylisting (it has helped us so much so far). Being able to raise the 32 (or 30) days limit after which a "known" server is considered unknown would help

This eliminates the virtualization part and should get you the maximum possibly (nearly native) performance. Disclaimer: not tested!
