I have an OPNsense DEC740 that I'm trying to install PBS onto (the manufacturer doesn't support anything other than OPNsense).
This device uses a Ryzen V1500B embedded CPU and has no video output, only serial console via USB. The device shows up...
I needed to replace a faulty drive in my Ubuntu 20.04 VM (on Proxmox VW 8.25). After a reboot, 3 of the disk drives which were previously attached to the VM had become detached. I needed to re-attach them using the qm set command. This worked...
Hi, in your reply I can't see an answer to the bbgeek17's question.
Have you, by chance, installed in this PVE any unofficial software, scripts etc.?
Also, you can have a look at...
If you are planning on rebuying the hardware a Ceph+PVE Ceph Cluster+ one local (for fast backup and restore and one offsite Proxmox Backup Server (e.g. a rented one in a datacenter or your offsite location) might fit the bill, the basic...
Well from my perspective, that is the burden and advantage of Open Source.
There is no necessity to limit the list of possible solutions and divide them in "right" or "wrong" implementations. The question is what is the problem to solve and is it...
Probably yes!
My choice would be OPNsense nevertheless. It just has all the bells and whistles one might want. And you are not forced to enable/use them all at once - but they are available when you realize you want some new features next year...
Another vote for OPNsense and I find using the adguard plugin (OPNsense community plugin) an excellent adblocker as well way to stop or limit teens from sites and other social media I might want to limit. Great for monitoring as well. Better than...
As far as I understand no. It uses the following IPs for DHCP
Not sure what the "/24" part of "192.168.0.1/24" does, but that was the default used by the Installer.
Does the static IP assigned to Proxmox need to be assigned to one of the IPs...
in case you are using additional dkms modules like r8168 you need to install proxmox-headers-6.17 too
so
apt install proxmox-kernel-6.17 proxmox-headers-6.17
tested on my smol - 3x Lenovo Tiny M920q Cluster, with i5-8500T/32GB/512 NVMe and...
Hi,
Does your router (192.168.0.1) do routing between 192.168.0.1/24 and 192.168.100.1/24 ?
If not, why put proxmox server on 192.168.100.2 ?
Best regards,
Hi
I was wondering if someone could shed some light, Currently i have a ubuntu 22.04 which i installed the drivers but for some reason does not show the correct ram on proxmox vs on the vm itself? not sure if i missed something? on Windows works...
Great — now for VLANs, try enabling VLAN aware on vmbr0, don’t put your host IP on vmbr0 itself but on a VLAN sub-interface (e.g. vmbr0.10), and make sure your uplink switch is trunking those VLAN tags.
See Proxmox docs & examples here...
I set all VM/CT's to not start. I recorded the full sequence. I then started the VM's in the following order (after approx 2 minutes wait time):
1. VM (Windows)
2. VM (Ubuntu)
3. CT
4. CT
When they come online the console always raises issues...
Hi, I'm a beginner to networking and home lab stuff so I apologize in advance if this is duplicate post or whatever. I've done my research but I'm not sure how to troubleshoot the issue assessing the management interface post-installation. I'll...
BTW, neponn, I should have mentioned, if you have an extra m.2 slot, perhaps an m.2 to network adapter would work. Anything should be better than a USB adapter. However, I have also heard less than positive reviews about many m.2 network...
