ZFS with Smart Array P816i-a

Hi.
I wanted to buy an HP Proliand DL380 model server that has a Smart Array P816i-a controller.
I might know if I can then configure the controller to make the proxmox manage the disks in ZFS?

Check if you can flash it to an HBA, best to IT mode.

Otherwise, get an HBA and attach the disk backplane to the HBA.

Don't go down the road to create a single RAID 0 for each disk and to create the ZPOOL on top of that. It will cost you performance to a certain degree, and replacing a failed disk becomes so much more cumbersome.
