see http://zfsonlinux.org/ . While the Proxmox developers have been producing 2.0, ZFS for linux has been getting made. From thar site:
"
Native ZFS for Linux! ZFS is an advanced file system and volume manager which was originally developed for Solaris. It has been successfully ported to multiple platforms and now there is a a functional Linux ZFS kernel port. The port includes a functional and stable SPA, DMU, ZVOL, and Posix Layer (ZPL). Please see our
FAQ and example pages for details."
"
Produced at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory"
I have installed zfs on two proxmox 2.0 systems. These are testing / /backup systems as home. Will also set up one at work and use zfs send/receive instead of rsync to send backups off site .
I put install notes at
http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/ZFS#Native_ZFS_for_Linux_on_Proxmox_2.0 . I tried a few ways , but in the end used git .
