ZFS for Smart array P440ar

Hi,
I was wondering if someone else has any experience with a Smart array P440ar success story with ZFS currently going to put it proxmox which it currently has Hyper V, but before i format need to know if it will work on HBA mode?

Hm - sorry for the late answer:
In general I have the feeling that people have quite mixed experiences with those hybrid adapters - for some it works splendidly - for others there's nothing but trouble. We discourage their use in general, since they are seldom worth the trouble compared to buying a (quite cheap) plain HBA for the system (see e.g.[0] for one example).

I guess I'd agree with the other thread (maybe you opened) - https://www.ixsystems.com/community/threads/zfs-for-smart-array-p440ar.77438/ - try to get a plain HBA
