Hello!

I'm setting up a new Proxmox server:
What is the best practice about the installation boot drive between thoses 2 options?

An installation on a single disk?
An installation on a ZFS1?

Regards - JS

How much do you like your PVE installation?

That's what it comes down to. If you can live with a server that is down and needs to be reinstalled because a disk failed, then go ahead with a single disk. Otherwise, always use a RAID.

Thanks for your answer:

Is there no downside having a zfs for boot drive? i was told this may not be oficially recommanded but couldn't find anything in documentation

That depends on the Linux distribution that you use. PVE comes with ZFS and you can use ZFS as root file system directly when using the official installer.

i've used the official ISO Installer to do so.
Wanted to be sure it was a good practice.
