I want to install PBS bare-bones on my HPE DL380 G9.
Currently this server only has has 2x 300GB regular HDD in RAID1.
My plan is to install PBS on this RAID, and then add a couple of SAS SSD drives for the actual backup storage.
My available choice for HPE SAS SSD drives comes down to "read-intensive" vs "write-intensive" labeled drives, while the ones labeled as "mixed-use" are significantly more expensive.
Which of these drive types would be more appropriate for PBS storage?
Also, what would be the most optimal way to configure 2n redundancy across these new SSD drives? Hardware raid using the HPE smart array controller, ZFS, or something else?
