Hi,
you mean the write cache of the physikal disk and not the cache handling of virtual disk, right?!
For security reason it's the best to use a hardware raidcontroller with backup-battery and switched off write cache on the disks. On power-loss all unwritten data are stored on the raidcontroller and saved by the battery.
For performance reason it's the best to use the disk-cache. So it's on you how save must the system be?
