I did a windows 2016 server vm reboot this morning and since then the vm stucks in the Proxmox "Start boot option". I restarted the PVE host and also tried to go to the repair console, but nothing worked.

Any ideas, how I could fix the boot procedure without having to restore the whole machine from backup?

Hi,

May you provide us with the Windows Server 2016 config and the output of `pveversion -v`?

I would also check the syslog when the VM start, i.e.,
- in your Proxmox VE shell run `journalctl -f` command
- Start the VM either from CLI on another SHELL qm start <VMID> or from Proxmox VE Web UI.

Meanwhile I did a full restore from our PBS and all is running well again.

Thank you!

For whatever reason I also noticed - only a Win2016 server issue. That machine was migrated from ESXi and also does some "extra thinking" at boot time (at the blue screen / before the login). Only on that machine
