Windows Server 2016 - Proxmox 7.3-3 - Impossible to install Virtio Drivers

Hi,

As the title states, I tried installing virtio drivers from versions virtio-win-0.1.137 to virtio-win-0.1.185, each time on fresh install. They all report the same thing, "windows cannot verify digital signature"...

Which leads me to believe that the virtio drivers were signed with a newer hash that is not supported in Windows Server 2016 without updates. Testing this theory now.

If anyone has some suggestions in the interim please advise.

I found out the problem... if you install the OS with UEFI mode, no virtio drivers are accepted on 2016... for some unknown reason.

The virtio versions you named are from 2017 and 2020.

maybe try the latest versions instead:
https://fedorapeople.org/groups/virt/virtio-win/direct-downloads/latest-virtio/

That works fine for 2019/2022 in UEFI mode - i have not touched 2016 in ages, but i wouldn't expect that to differ.

I just installed Virtio drivers on 2 x 2016 Server VM's yesterday.
They work as expected.
