Hi all,
I successfully installed Proxmox VE 1.1 on HP ProLiant ML350 G5 server. With the server came the licence of MS Win2003 Standard ROK (HP brended OEM licence). When i try to install that OS (MS Win2003 Standard ROK) i get an error: "This system is not supported platform."
Searching on the internet i fond this info: http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service...47626+1239702396584+28353475&threadId=1200282 and this one right after: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...c=us&objectID=c00970200&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN
They are talking about passing BIOS informations to the operating system running in the virtual machine and they explained how to do that in VMware environment ( adding this line SMBIOS.reflectHost=TRUE to the configuration file of the virtual machine).
Is there some similar workaround in KVM virtualization too?

Of course, i run other (linux and windows) KVM virtual machines without problems.

.....but no replies in those 3 days. Did anybody have that kind of experience with windows oem licences on KVM??? Tell me please...i'd feel beter if i wasn't the only one with that problem ;;))

I had similar problem a lot of time ago.
I tried to install Dell OEM WinXP on virtual machine (virtualBox or MS Virtual PC, I don't remember). It is look like OEM check some equipment and if it is not Dell (in my case) installed windows in trail version. Windows recognize virtual equipment like different from real.
I was have to install not OEM version.
Probably HP make more serious restriction and don't give you possibility to install it completely.

I guess you have two choices:
1. Install not OEM version.
2. Install windows on machine without virtual machine and after this try to transfer existing machine to virtual. I heard that it is possible but I have never did it.

good luck
