which nic and which driver do you use inside the VM?
Have you tried e1000 with the intel-driver?

And also, because would love if updated things work fine or not, if using virtio, is he using the latest drivers?

What driver version are you using? We had a problem with lost connection after reboot - definitely solved in build 49.
