Windows 8.1 over Proxmox for production enviroment server

Hello,

I'm interested in buying a Proxmox VE Community - Proxmox VE Community Subscription 2 CPUs/year.
My project is to have a business intelligence software in 3 Windows 8.1 virtual machines running over a Proxmox.


Do you have (or know) any Windows 8.1 installation in a production enviroment?
It's recommended W8.1 over Proxmox for production servers. You'd do it?

I don't think Windows 8.1 is fully supported yet - you'll need to tweak the config files for it to boot and the guest agent won't install. Same problem for Server 2012R2.

For production servers I'd be looking at (virtualised) 2012 or 2008R2 on ProxMox.

yesterday I installed windows 8.1 enterprise trial, just used IDE disks and CPU sandybridge...

My 4x 2012R2 machines are also working fine without any issues. I used VIRTIO and HOST as CPU setting.

Are you running the pv drivers for disk, network and memory?
