Windows 2008r2 2k8r2 udp

I'm using Proxmox 1.8.
Using windows 7 32/64 , vista, 2008r2 , (New winsock), in some applications I detect problems with udp packets, if I do tcpdum I dont see the sum = ok in some packets and apps starts killing udp sessions.

I tried virtio e1000 rtl8139 pcnet.
Also I tried disabling offloading and other tcpip tweaks.

But with Windows xp and server 2003 works fine.

What can I try?

I need windows vista+ for symblinks support (mklink).
 
I am using e1000 for network with default driver settings in 2008 R2.
My systems seem to be working ok.
I am using the 2.6.35 kernel, maybe that makes a difference?

dunno if that sum ok got something to do, its like it fails when the lenght is bigger than 5x
 
To fix the lost connectivity issue I ve installed another virtio, (newer).

I tried to fix the udp issue with e1000 and latest intel driver but its the same.
Maybe I should upgrade kvm?

maybe this is the problem ?

What settings do you recommend for w2k8r2 ?
Should I use e1000 or virtio?
What about vhost=on/off?

I need low latency for UDP
 
I've experienced over the past 2 years with virtio drivers (for network).
They are not stable under load and fails unexpectedly under some probably specific circumstances (the driver fails - the vm loose connectivity and needs a reboot).
It happened with all versions, and is really related to load with lots of different clients.

I have a machine which always has the e1000 interface with the OS driver and never lost connectivity under load (as intel drivers won't install, unlike what e100 wrote).

Since january i switched all machines to e1000 and never seen connectivity lost again.

I'm speaking about the virtio network drivers, not the virtio disk drivers which seems to work ok.
 
I totally agree to softlion, same problems here w. virtio lan drivers and Win2008 (lost connections). Had no problems w. microsoft e1000 drivrs so far.

One thing differs: On one machine (HP Server w hw raid) I had problems w. virtio disk drivers (vm rebooted once a week) so i switched back to standard IDE which seems to work stable.
