Hi!
I'm trying to virtualise a windows 2008 x64 server running on uefi hardware into proxmox. A created a system backup using the windows backup application. Now trying to restore that backup in proxmox, using the windows installation media. That's where things stop working...
Created a VM, OVMF bios, added a ide harddisk, the windows x64 iso to boot from, however... it cannot get into the windows installer. Getting a blank screen after the "windows is loading files..." completes.
I have tested the windows 2008 installer dvd using SeaBIOS (this works) and also checked VMF boot with a windows 2012 installer dvd (this also works).
Therefore: are there knows issues with windows 2008 / OVMF in proxmox? The rest of the settings are pretty default: intel e1000 nic, tried various graphic card settings (only not spice, since I'm not sure what linux client to use to view it), tried ide, sata, scsi, etc.
I also tried restoring my backup using the windows 2012 installer dvd, but it politely tells me to use a windows 2008 x64 dvd to restore this backup. :-(
Any pointers or ideas?
