Hi guys! first time i post here, i love proxmox, so thanks in advance for your support.

Here's my problem: Recently i had to virtualize a windows 2000 pc, i got it up and running nicely, and even installed the virtio network driver, but i'm getting terrible speeds with the hard drive. I can't find a driver for the virtio hard drive that will work, everything that i managed to find is either for 2003, or xp, and the windows 2000 guest doesn't recognize the virtio drives that i add.

Is there a way to make it work better? any driver at least for ide or sata that will improve performance? or better yet a virtio driver.

Hope you guys can help me, thanks a lot again.

use IDE, there is no virtio driver for win2000.

if you need stability, performance and security, use NOT win2000 ....

hi Tom, i know windows 2000 sucks big time, but this machine is running some legacy website that cannot be migrated for a number of reasons.

I changed the ide driver and now i'm getting some decent speeds on i/o, thanks! I think we can mark this as solved.

None of my business, but if you have a website running on security deficient systems, you are setting yourself up for a disaster.
