Good afternoon,

I know this question is asked a lot and I have read many posts about it. However, I have not been able to correlate any of them to my situation (I may be missing something).

I have a Windows 10 VM that does not run very quickly (windows open slowly, applications are slow, clicks sometimes lag, etc). I have it setup as:

My hardware is a Protectli Vault 6:

I believe Proxmox is installed on a mSATA Leven SSD 2TB, while my VMs use a Samsung SSD 860 EVO 2TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD.

So the question is, am I limited because of my hardware? Or have I set something up incorrectly?

Thank you so much for any assistance you can provide.

Have you tried it with the default CPU type?
It seems for some selecting `host` leads to very slow VMs.

Hello!

I changed it to the default and it seems like it did speed it up quite a bit! I am still having some issues running 2k or higher videos from YouTube smoothly. I am currently remote, so I cannot tell if it is distance that is causing it (I remember having this issue previously).

I have connected via VNC server and NoMachine. I prefer NoMachine because it passes through sound and seems to be a bit quicker. I even tried VNC'ing directly through Promox by adding a VNC arg to the config file (that is really slow). However, I do not like NoMachine's full screen mode and am looking for an alternative that I can use to view Windows, Linux, and other OSes.

Thank you for your assistance!!
