Hello
is there a description how to properly set um a KVM with Windows 7 or 8
AND how to connect it from a ThinClient.

and a last but not least how to Setup User/Accesright to use it in Proxmox.
Will each user be using his own KVM/Win or will it be possible to share on KVM with multiple user?

Have a nice day
Vinc

Hi Vinc,

For the setup of KVM with Win 7 or 8 you can go ahead with
https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Windows_7_guest_best_practices
and
https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Windows_8_guest_best_practices

Connections from a ThinClient are (afaik) only possible with Windows Server-Editions (at least without a pretty sure non legal patch).

With the usermanagement in Proxmox you are able to handle rights to the nodes and the VMs.
Not the access in the VM. So e.g. you can decide who is able to start/stop VMs, who can only have a look at resources, etc.

The usermanagement can be hold in proxmox itself without any thirdparty solution (which is really easy, effective and accurate) or for example by an LDAP-Server or somethin similar.

@vogeltyp
thanks for your feedback and the links, actually I have a win8 running in a KVM, but very slow and I have to acces from the Proxmox GUI which is not what I would expect.
some I will tune it up first.

and find to set up a Linux with GUI for working and access it from a thinClient.
have a nice day
