I first installed KVM on a debian wheezy, cerate some vm with virt-manager.
All seemed working well but I notice that a samba (cifs) connexion between two Windows pc ( 1 real, 1 virtual ) worked very badly.
It is impossible to write on a share of a virtual machine.
The story began with the move of a old 2003 server. When I noticed the problem, i try to install virtio drivers ( with difficulties, only 1.49 worked for me ).
After a while, I saw that I had the sames problems with a Windows 8.1 virtual machine on the same host.

Network is working well, I have no problem when I use sshfs, also I have no problem to connect with rdp to the virtual machine. Only the share is not working.

I tried a lot of parameters, but without success.

I create a new installation on a new computer ( a little HP ML310eGen8 with 32 Gb ), same problem

Finally, I installed a proxmox 3 in place of my debian wheezy on this HP and all is working fine.

 Why proxmox is working ?

What are the hidden settings ?, is this a network problem ( a missing parameters in the bridge ) ?

If you have an Idea, please let me known. Even if proxmox is a very wonderfull project, I want to use a simple debian installation.

Thanks for your time.

Hi,
I think this is the wrong forum for this question. If you have troubel with proxmox many people can give you valuable hints.

But for virtualisation you should try pve longer - it's more than debian wheezy with virtmanager ;)
