Why do I get this on console some times?

Sometimes when I reboot any of my VM's, I get this annoying black bar on the side of the console screen and I have to reboot to get rid of it. Has anyone experience this before?

Have you tried to reconnect the console window again, maybe close and reopen it? I sometimes have problems on some browsers with similar "bars".

Does this happen in other browsers (maybe on other machines) and does this also happen with different guest OSes?
