Hello,

for an Geo-Redundant-HA System we have two single Proxmox-Servers which hosts our App-VMs.
today we have a Hardware Raid-1 with two 1TB Enterprise-SSDs (=1TB usable space) with thin-LVM (for snapshots).

the disk space is near full and we have to upgrade it.

so here is my question:
which local filesystem do you think is usefull for us?
the simple one - Raid-5 with 4 SSDs and EXT4 (*gg*)?
we have many experience with CEPH in our PVE-Cluster (5.4, 7 Hosts, >50SSDs) - but how i can use CEPH on single host?

other ideas?

thanks a lot

regards
Ronny

if i use Hardware Raid10 - which filesystem i should use?

ZFS RaidZ2 needs 5 Disks but we have max 4...

First of all - i don't advise using hardware raid.
If you decide to use it, you can go for xfs or ext4.
I remember reading on both of them and i don't remember a clear winner among the 2.
