Hello,

On the proxmox installer I have said "please set up proxmox on zfs in mirror / raid1 Mode.

Now I want to set up a few virtual machines. Under "Disks -> ZFS, there is now the "default" rpool which my zfs raid1. So that should be fine.

On this rpool I now start to create virtual machines like pfsense, archlinux etc. In the installation process I will be asked which filesystem I want to use. What should I use here? "Default ext4" or do I need to select ZFS also here?

In my mind I think ext4 should be the way and zfs would make it slower that it already is on performance side. But I am right here?

Thanks a lot!

hi,

ext4 or anything decent should work fine most of the time (the underlying storage will still be ZFS on the PVE host. you get the benefits on hypervisor level)
