Hello everyone,

I know I am a bit early for asking when Proxmox VE 8 will be End Of Life. (Since Proxmox VE 9 only just released as a beta.)
But September/October (when I would assume Proxmox VE 9 will be released) is going to be a bad moment for me to upgrade from 8 to 9.
This is because my hoster is transferring my server to a new data-center. (And yes, the server itself will be physically moved from the old DC to the new DC.)
So this creates a lot of challanges and in turn make it not really possible to do a Proxmox VE upgrade to 9 before November for me.

And thus why I am asking when Proxmox VE 8 will be EOL. (Or to be more specifically when will the security only patches stop in case it is needed.)
My server run the stable enterprise repo. (In case there is a EOL differents for enterprise and no-subscription)

That is what I would have assumed.
But I also have seen projects changing things so that you need to update the APT sources to point to a new LTS source. (So that is why I am asking.)
And thanks for the info.

At least now I know that unless Proxmox is going to state otherwise, I can continue to run PVE 8 untill November without needing to do anything.

Hello Daniel

The simple answer: Don't worry, it's proxmox.
The EOL comes not soon after new versions and the "on the fly dist-upgrade" is seamless across versions within clusters. I experienced this starting with proxmox-ve_5 in 2019 with ZFS-Installations (not the default).
