(When) Should I enable the "non-free-firmware" repository component?

I read the admin manual and it states, that I can enable the "non-free-firmware" repository component: https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs/pve-admin-guide.html#sysadmin_debian_firmware_repo
I'm wondering how to decide if I want to do this. The manual mentions the Early OS Microcode Updates and Runtime Firmware Files, but again I'm not sure if I would want/need these. Can someone give me a hint?

My personal opinion: YES, I want to get firmware updates and so I do enable that repo.

"non-free" means it contains blobs without the source code being available. Debian hesitates (for a good reason) to include packages like this in the "main" or "security" repository.

I am an update junkie, this means I want to have the latest stable release and hope to be as secure as possible this way...
