What sort of CPU would you prefer?

I need to choose one of these two cpus for an avarage proxmox server with only 4 VMs with 3 GB each.

I need to choose between 4 cores / 8 threads 2.66 GHz OR 4 cores / 4 threads 3.2 GHz Which one is considirable you think? ( I will probably go with 4 cores / 4 threads 3.2 GHz as it is faster but other cpu is 8 threads.)

From a virtualization point of view the 4 cores 8 threads is an octocore while the 4 cores 4 threads is a quadcore.

What are those 4 VMs? Do they heavily rely on CPU power? If not, use the higher GHz QuadCore.

yes, that's what I said. Each php call is single threaded, so each php call is faster if you have more ghz.
