Question. As for "qemu-guest-agent" does this have to be installed on Proxmox for the feature to work? I explain. Creating a vm in a first configuration returned an error in "qemu" and reading the guide I see that the installation is necessary in every VM.
Agent is optional, it provides additional connectivity link between Hypervisor and VM, which you may or may not need. Most people probably dont need it.
If the agent is installed, then a special device needs to be enabled for the VM in hypervisor settings, as shown in your screenshot.
I kindly refer you to the Proxmox VE manual (as the Wiki is usually out of date):
The QEMU Guest Agent is a service which runs inside the VM, providing acommunication channel between the host and the guest. It is used to exchange information and allows the host to issue commands to the guest. ...
Enable the QEMU Guest Agent option in the Proxmox web GUI only if you have installed and enabled the QEMU Guest Agent software inside the VM. Not all operating systems provide a QEMU Guest Agent.

Primarily useful if you want to rely on your snapshot-mode backups, so the PVE host can tell the guestOS to flush the write caches before doing the backup so you get consistent backups.
