what do i need to have a windows vm in proxmox

Hi all,

I have had some bad luck using windows 2012 in proxmox virtualization. These problems have been because i have used a old virtio driver pack and so on.

usually i install ballooning, disk and network drivers from virtio. But i also see a guest something folder in the virtio package.

my question is. what do i need to install to get a stable running windows 2012 in proxmox?
What do you install from Virtio to get a stabel running Windows 2012?

I'm running stable virtio drivers from
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Windows_Virtio_Drivers

on a lot of win2012 without any problem

Thanks for answering! What from VirtIO do you install to get the stability? there are more than one driver along with the guest thing

Just grab this ISO and make a 2nd disk to access it during Win installation.

I only install the VirtIO SCSI (block driver), and VirtIO Network. That method works for me with Server 2008R2 and 2012R2.

Thanks.. i will go for SCSI and Network drivers.. what about the guest thing? is that really needed?
