What do I do about user management?

Hi,

I recently discovered Proxmox and love it. That was until I discovered it does not appear to have user management which is kind of a show stopper for me. Basically I want to use it as a publicly available OpenVZ webservers. So is proxmox not designed for that? What do people use? At a minimum I would like people to have access to their individual VM's via the Proxmox control panel. Bascally like what Virtuozzo offers but doesn't need to be as fancy or full featured. Just the basics.

So if Proxmox can't do any of that what do all the people offering VPS webservers for a monthly fee use?

See roadmap.

Thanks, I am aware of that. I love Proxmox VE and appreciate everything Proxmox is doing for the community but without any firm dates I consider it all vapourware until something actually exists. For all I know v2.0 won't be available for years. I am looking for a stable solution here now.

looks like you are not up2date. the whole communication in the cluster is already user aware and the rest on the road - things are moving fast here.

there are always a lot of people wanting everything now but the real question is: if you need it now what is your input to get it faster?

what about a $BIG donation to the project? or are you just wanting something for free?

Feel free to run with that thought!

I am trying to get from point A to point B. Going with something like Proxmox is the lower cost solution so I am starting there.

If I cannot get all the way there then I will need to explore the option of going with something like Virtuosso + Plesk licensing which of course is going to cost more.

Ok I found the solution which is to use HyperVM instead of Proxmox. I am still learning this stuff but after more research I now realize that proxmox is not really intended for web hosting businesses like HyperVM is.
