what are the best backup strategy for this kind of machine configuration ?

A have only one server oem machine (intel i5, 16 gb Ram and 500 gb HDD) and one 1,5 TB USb disk for storage purposes.

And the other side, i only run 5 virtual machines in my proxmox enviroment, but all of them run under MS windows operation system...(3 windows 2003 STD and 2 Windows XP VM)

Finally, what are the best backup strategy for this kind of machine configuration ?

Or any other suggestion ?
