What are best practices to disk scan for errors and disk defrags?

Want to learn best ways to maintenance windows kvm guests? Like can I safely use windows disk defrag or scan disk? Or should I make it in proxmox node level?
If so what are the ways for Virtio HDD as raw image to maintenance ?

You should do both for max performance! First the node level then the windows defrag!
