I am new to proxmox and I'm planing to build my site using it now. Proxmox is great.

But I don't want to use the default port of 80 and 443 because I guess I'll get better security using my own port setup(people don't know the port to the administrating interface!).

It is easy to change in port in apache config, but I am guessing that it will be a good idea to ask for a custom port in the installer! What do you guys think?

thanks for feedback. our idea is to make the installer as easy as possible asking not many questions. e.g. we automatically partition the hard disk with LVM2 to have a system which can do snapshots.

Thanks for your reply, Tom.
My thought is that beside those who want to set their own port for security reasons, there might also be people who want to keep the port 80 for web service (eg. using squid to listen to 80 and reverse proxying to one of the guest VE that is providing web service). So I guess it might be helpful if we can change the port, in the installer or the administrating interface.
What do you think?

It is best to run proxmox ve behind a firewall using a private it for the management interface.
