Web UI user and password incorrect

Hi,
I have installed proxmox mail gateway using iso, its working fine and able to login my web UI using login credentials which i was created during installation.

while i try to install another proxmox mail gateway on cloud Debian linux without any iso that will not ask to enter any user or password. which i have is only root user and password. installation is done and i am trying to login to web UI using my OS root password , but it says login incorrect.

any idea to create users for web UI login ? or view user location or configuration files ? i have not much idea about location and configurations.

i installed on Debian Linux using sources not using ISO. i dont know to check logs, coz i am new in linux. just i have screen as below.

its the journal is says user or password unknown. i have not been prompted for user creating during installation.
I know that user can be created during installation but only in iso installation,


is there any way to create users directly via ssh for PAM ?

i have searched for user.conf file but there is not such file. in my lab environment which i installed by the iso have that file and user too .

The error says multiple things:
* the password you provide for root is not correct - if you have access as root you can set it with `passwd`
* there is an issue with the postgresql database - it seems the db-user was not setup correctly when you installed PMG - were there any errors when you installed the `proxmox-mail-gateway` metapackage?

My issue is resolved. i somehow reset the password of root user and enable root login then web UI is accessible using root user. Thank YOu for your support !
