I use vzlist -HS -o ctid to give me a list of openvz containers on the node and originally thought this was working till we did a full proxmox audit of vms on the cloud and the output from this command.

Node3 only shows a list of 45 cts

While there are 76 cts on the node and only 3 cts are running.

  1. Why is there a difference from what i see using this command and what i see in proxmox web interface?
  2. node 9 shows 37 vms using vzlist -HS -o ctid but has 83 CTS total and only 44 of those are running CTS
    1. I thought vzlist -HS -o ctid was counting private/* directories while the web interface is counting vm*.conf but that turned out to be incorrect
    2. so where does the list of 37 vms come from???
