Hi,
I want to migrate a vm from one proxmox server to another proxmox server using vzdump. Could anyone please help me to do this. I do not want to take backup in same server. I want to use vzdump and backup the vm to that other proxmox server. I have disk space issue, that is why want to do this. and the both server location in different place. Could any one please give me steps of remote backup and restore procedure using vzdump?

Regards,
Azim

If you want to do that your other server would need to provide some remote storage. Something like a NFS/SMB server tunneled via VPN that you then mount locally to let VZDump store the backups there.

Hi Dunuin,
Without VPN tunnel not possible to do directly? and never mind could you please give me the total steps or any reference link?

Wouldn't be great as you then would need to make your remote servers filesystems public to the internet. And you would need to encrypt all traffic on the network share level. Would be way more secure to connect both LANs via an encrypted VPN tunnel and then do a "local" transfer.
