vzdump - add/restore additional paths and files to backup archive of lxc container

Is it possible to add and later restore additional specific paths and files into backup of lxc container?
I mean custom files located in /var/lib/lxc/XXX directory for example?

yes and no. backing them up is no problem - you can simple create your own additional "custom" backup archive using the hook functionality of vzdump. restoring is not hookable currently, so you need to restore it manually.
