vz stops working after upgrade to debian testing

Hello to all.
I had a fully working Proxmox installed on a debian Lenny with a 2.6.35-1-pve kernel.

So I decided to upgrade to testing/squeeze, and now when I try to start vz I get the following error:

Code: 
peter:/# /etc/init.d/vz start
Running kernel is not OpenVZ kernel...failed

Any search on the web was unsuccessfull....

uname reports the correct running kernel...

Linux peter 2.6.35-1-pve #1 SMP Thu Dec 16 06:05:58 CET 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Please any help?

Want to add that squeeze is NOT supported at the moment by Proxmox. Proxmox 2.0 will be based upon squeeze, so in any case is very risky do it for 1.7
