Hi

I am looking at setting up a proxmox backup server at home to backup my vms from my office

I currently have a dream machine SE in my office that can handle the vpn connection but what i was wondering is what would i use on my pbs to connect to the office network? is this a very simple question and am missing something or looking to make things complicated.

My Home router is using sky which gives me no options to do anything with that router apart from using it for my internet connection.

Thanks
Dave

Hi @mason64

thanks for posting in the forum!

Probably the easiest route to go would be a Wireguard VPN setup, where your Dream Machine acts as a Wireguard Server and the PBS connects as a WG Client.
Since you can install the Wireguard packages directly onto the PBS since it is a Debian as base OS, this should be fairly straightforward.

If you need any additional help, don't hesitate to ask.

Yours sincerely
Jonas

Whats the best way to set up a wireguard VPN using the UDM, the udm is on the site with the proxmox servers and my home with a standard router is going to have pbs on the network. both networks are on 192.168.1.x, am not sure if that is going to be an issue?
