I am curious if anyone else experienced problems with the mouse tracking in vncterm since the upgrade to 1.3. From a working 1.1 server I recently did the 1.2, followed by the 1.3 upgrade and ever since I have had issues with both Ubuntu 8.04 and OpenSuse 11.1 when running on the X console. Everything is just fine if I use RDP along with xrdp in the opensuse VM's. However all my windows VM's are acting fine with the mouse.

All the above are KVM not OPENVZ VM's. At any rate any thoughts or ideas are welcome. I have a client I cannot upgrade until I resolve this.

Many thanks,

check the guest settings (x11) - install or boot a ubuntu on the 1.3 and compare the x11 settings with the machines in trouble.

Tom,
Thanks for your reply. I tried your suggestion, only with debian 5 which I had in hand. On the initial graphical install screen the local and remote cursors synced up as soon as I gave the window focus. After the installation finished and rebooted, I had the same tracking problem with the X11. It was a bit more usable but not like it was on v1.1, which was dead on. I played with mouse settings on both the guest and the web console host. Still a problem. My next step will be to put another disk in my R&D host and do a full fresh install. Then I'll copy one of the troublesome guests over to that disk and run it to see if it works correctly. Since no one else has replied to my original post I am guessing this must be something on my current R&D installation.

Any further ideas or advice is quite welcome

in X11 and windows guest you need to load the right driver (usbdevice tablet) to get the mouse in sync.

Tom,
I checked the process list to see if the usbdevice tablet item was on the command line of the guests I am having difficulty with and it was in the command string. I also checked the xorg.conf and it had "Name" "Adomax QEMU USB Tablet" showing up in the input section. I am starting to believe somehow something got seriously messed up during my upgrade. I checked pveversion -v and it looks right according to the forum posts I've read.

Regards,
Bill
