Hi, I have tried to use the Spice option in the VM for increasing the desktop resolution display on a Win 10 client I imported from VMWARE. I uninstalled the VMWARE tools before I imported the guest into Proxmox then used the V2V method as described in the wiki. I have it up and running using VIRTIO SCSI and NIC. I then installed the Spice client in the windows OS. Then enabled the display to be SPICE. It all works but my mouse is offset. So as per the wiki I tried to install the VMWARE tools both from a exe file and the mounted CD in the GUEST Win 10 machine.

Message is "The VMWARE tools should only be installed inside a virtual machine"

Does anyone have an idea to get the tools to be installed? I had a look at the VMWARE forums and all they is install it from the WMARE workstation application or from the CD.

Any tips.

Currently running Virtual Environment 6.1-8

May I ask where in our wiki you are getting that info? Installing VMware tools in a KVM based VM does not make any sense. The `qemu-guest-agent` is probably what you want.
