Hi,

I have a virtualized PBX (Askozia) VM which I can't control through the gui.
If I send shutdown nothing happens.

Now I have seen that I could activate VMware Tools (or HyperV Linux Integration Services), its just a checkbox.

Should I try to activate it? Can KVM use that tools somehow to control the VM?

Qemu/KVM has its own agent, which needs to run inside the guest - qemu-guest-agent (that's the name of the package in most linux-distros and it's also called that way on Windows).

I don't know Askozia, but if it's based on linux, maybe you can install the qemu-guest-agent on it (you need to additionally enable it in the guest config (in the GUI it's set at 'Options' when the guest is selected).

You need to ask the Askozia support, whether they can provide a HOWTO for the qemu-guest-agent.

If this doesn't work you can try to enable ACPI support in Askozia (that's what Qemu falls back to, if no guest-agent is available)

Hope this helps
