Hi Guys and Girls,
We don't like where vmware is going with the Broadcom. So we are looking for replacement.
I think proxmox is great solution the only problem we have is the storage.
In my opinion this is the time to have a good solution for this. And you will takeover the world.
A normal vmware environment has a central storage (san) and has luns on local machines. So the machines are only compute.
The storage in vmware is VMFS, this storage can write and read from a lun on all machines in a vmware cluster.
I want to replace vmware with something else, I am not searching for opensource and are willing to pay but there is no alternative.
Often I see Ceph, wat a cool storage system is. But that is not the solution.
I was looking at GF2, wat looks great, but is not supported.
So my question is, I have a (big)SAN and lot of compute nodes, what is the best solution?
