I have a single (no cluster) Proxmox server running for several months.

Yesterday, virtual machines running on this server became unreachable.

This morning I checked the problem: everything seems ok, but the server has lost its configuration: Vms, storage and NIC.

Can someone con help me to find out what happened?

check the logs under /var/log

check the logs under /var/log

Yes, I know, but can you help me a little more, telling me where (under /var/log/) and what to look for?

I have no idea what could have happened (it could be a power interruption) so for me it's like looking for a needle in a haystack ;-)

Thank you.

generally, search the syslog for anything that seems not normal, especially after the incident
you can also use the journal with 'journalctl' , also on the webinterface is a tab 'syslog' for each node
