Hi

I recently installed a small proxmox cluster we are playing arround with vlans, here is the deal after add the vlan information in etc/network/interfaces the following information is the one used to configure the vlan :

auto vmbr0

iface vmbr0 inet manual

bridge\_ports enp3s0f0

bridge\_stp off

bridge\_fd 0

bridge\_vlan\_aware yes

auto vmbr0.xxx

iface vmbr0.xxx inet static

address 10.0.0.x

netmask 255.255.255.0

gateway 10.0.0.1

the vmbr0 disappears as an option when adding the network device I tried to find the specific issue on the forum but I dont have any luck is there any parameter that can produce vmbr0 to dessapears from the switch options? by the way de web interface is accesible on the network with out any Issue just vmbr0 is not an option when add de VNIC to a VM

thanks in advance for the help

first of, why do you have that many bridge ports? If you want network redundancy, look into bonds!
Adding many bridge ports is like plugging in multiple cables to the same switch. If those bridge ports connect to the same physical switch, you got a few ethernet loops...

should vmbr0.209 only be used for host MGMT and no guest should use it? Then consider configuring a VLAN device.
Try something like this for example.
Code:
auto mgmt
iface mgmt inet static
    address 10.255.209.36/24
    gateway 10.255.209.1
    vlan-raw-device vmbr0
    vlan-id 209

Thank You so much for the help refering to the many interfaces infact We where playing arround with diferente setups howewer at the end we are able to use just one interface, un fact we Will use both traffic management guest we Will need 209 vlan for managent and example vlan 10 for vm camunication, is it possible to be configured in that way with just one phisical interface?

I would by now set up the VLANs via the SDN. That makes it easy if you have more than one node.

Even with only one physical interface, the config will most likely not change much.

The VLAN 209 for MGMT only, should be configured as mentioned. Then you can configure a new VLAN zone in the Datacenter -> SDN panel, use the vmbr0 and add a new VLAN type VNET into the previously created zone.
That should make the guest's traffic leave the host via the physical interface of vmbr0 tagged with the VLAN tag you configured.

Sorry for the insistance the interfaces file should be as default and then add :

auto mgmt
iface mgmt inet static
address 10.255.209.36/24
gateway 10.255.209.1
vlan-raw-device vmbr0
vlan-id 209

Just to be clear thank You again
