Edit: This ended up being a really dumb fix. My test equipment has a minimal amount of RAM and I allocated it all for use to the Windows VM I was trying to pass the GPU to. This worked fine when there is no PCI passthrough but as soon as I would add the GPU it would cause a kernel panic with no error messages in dmesg or /var/log/syslog and reboot the node. Downgrading to PVE 5.4 delayed the reboots long enough to start showing me some error messages that I could google.
Anyway don't be like me. Leave your PVE node some memory overhead when passing through PCI devices.
I was hoping someone could tell me where to look for errors with a problem I am having with GPU passthrough to a VM.
I made a post on Reddit's /r/VFIO with the details of what I have tried so far but really it seems I just need some logs and I am not sure where to get them. I haven't found anything useful in /var/log/syslog or dmesg and nothing is shown after starting the vm with

qm start 100. Something is happening on the backend as power draw increases to the server and it's probably about 30 seconds before the reboot occurs but I was hoping someone could point me to where I should look for the cause of the issue.
